life

The past couple of days have sucked. I miss my sister a lot. I'm sick I think I have a cold or flu. This is a time when health insurance would be useful..Work is wack. I guess. I mean it's alright. Everyone always asks "How's your job?" I don't know? This is my first job, how can I really judge it, I don't know. My second job might me worse than this one or better. I don't know. I have nothing to compare it to. I wish I could live isolated from society. I don't want to be apart of it anymore. I hate school. I realize how wasteful it is. I know some people may say, to get a good job you need a good education. What if I don't want a job. I mean why would I want to just get 16 years of schooling just to grow up and become a vegetable? Money isn't that important to me. I mean is our society really based on getting a job just you can have the luxuries in life? A house? a nice car? What kind of worth does that have? Go to college just so you can have to "American Dream" which used to be just having the opprotunity to achieve any goal you want. Today it just means to get rich and be "happy". Ok I'm done now.

Ipod

Well I'm between a rock and a hard place now. I've wanted an iPod for a while now. The thing is after my old computer crashed I have little music only like 297 songs on my new computer. No I didn't buy music, I got it illegally. Now I just rip it off of CDs. Anyways, I don't know if I should get the iPod classic or a Nano. I can estimate that on my old computer I had like 900 songs, but I was in the middle of getting more before my computer crashed. So what are my options??

iPod nano 4gb- 1,000 songs..ehh
iPod nano 8gb- 2,000 songs, I think I might aim for this one.
iPod Classic- 20,000 songs.. I don't think I'll need that much.

I guess I'll be thinking about this for a while and in the meantime I'll be finding more songs and ripping more Cds. Maybe even buying some. Suggestions or comments are welcome.

Last.fm

So basically Last.fm is the coolest music site ever. I've been on it for a while. The only thing you have to do is listen to music. Then the rest is done for you. It automatically sends you recommendations of artist and events. It displays people who listen to similar music as you. Just type in Last.fm. So anyways I'm going to show off my snazzy music charts on my blog, I think they are pretty cool.

I know pretty snazzy right?

Touching Spirit Bear

In eighth grade English, our teacher assigned us a book, Touching Spirit Bear by Ben Mikaelsen. The book takes place in present day in the great Northwest/Alaska/Canada area. It's about a troubled teen who severely injures one of his peers in a school fight. The boy is given a choice to spend some time in a detention center or be exiled for some months on an island in Alaska. Cole, the main character believes he can easily go through this with no "real" punishment or even escape the island. He is confronted by the Spirit Bear and almost beaten to death. While reading this part of the book I had to stop because it was too much or somewhat graphic for me the way the author describes his beating. After his confrontation he ends up in the hospital. Cole slowly begins to change deep down inside because of some physical struggles he goes through on the island. I don't really want to spoil the book or anything, but really I don't feel like typing much more.
Well to conclude even though this book is simply written, it changed my outlook on people. It showed me that no matter how bad a person is there is always room for change and forgiving.

Job

Well I finally got a job working at Atlanta Bread Company. So far it's been three days. Not bad. I'm pretty much learning a lot. I learned about the cash register and cleaning crap like that. Customers are really specific. I think I've gotten the hang of everything now. At the same time I'm learning about the social aspects of humans. How when couples come in, sometimes their partners choice influences their choice of food. Or maybe I'm just over analyzing this. Guys tend to be less specific about their food and women seem more picky. I'm NOT saying this is FACT. Because it's not. This is just what has happened in the three very long days I've been working. This paycheck shall be sweet.

Ah December

Well it's December and in Charleston it's still not cold. I'm disappointed. Any who school work is stacking up, since I took that vacay to Washington DC. Grades might slip..oh well. I'll be fine right? I should probably start getting in shape for track season. Today Jessica and I went running. It sort of reminded me of how much I suck yet, it also reminded me that I have a lot of room to improve. I'll get better. A lot of times I worry, but in the end everything will be fine.
Running gives me a challenge. It's not like volleyball or basketball where I'm doing the sport physically. Running is different. You challenge yourself mentally-- I antagonize myself mentally and at the same time I'm encouraging too. I want to be a better runner because they are the most free athletes. You don't need "equipment" to run. You just need yourself; okay maybe shoes but they are not necessarily necessary to run. The first track practice is January 28th. Hopefully I'll be ready for that.
As for my job search.. I scheduled an interview with Atlanta Bread Company tomorrow (Thursday) at 3. That very same day I have a band concert at 7, but I have to be there at 6. Busy, Busy. jeez.
Well that's life for now.

I'm back

Well I made a new blog account now,
I'm in tenth grade so things have changed. I wanted to start blogging again just to maintain some form of sanity. So I guess you could call this an introductory blog.
Right now I'm listening to a song called "We haven't turned around" by Gomez and I'm in love with it. It's different from most songs I listen to, I think it's very shapely and their vocals are amazing.
Well marching band season is over and it's sorta sad. We did really good this year, we made it to State Championships for the first time and when we got there we got 9th place, but I am glad because we did very well. Yet as always I'm still saddened that the fun must come to an end and we must settle down for concert season. Lol.
My job quest has yet to be successful. This summer as a 15 year old, I applied to like 5 places and I had no success. Now as a 16 year old, I applied at Target. I got a two hour interview. The lady called me back and I called her back and then she's all dumb and confused, then I get a postcard saying I didn't get the job. Oh well. Now I'm applying at TJ Maxx or Marshall's either one is fine with me. That's all for now.
